Abstract

Women’s participation in grassroots politics has emerged as a critical factor in strengthening democratic systems, especially in developing countries. This paper examines the role of women in local governance, the barriers they face, and the transformative impact of their participation on communities. Drawing on theoretical perspectives and empirical examples, the paper highlights how grassroots political engagement empowers women, improves governance outcomes, and promotes inclusive development.
